I AM NOT CRAZY AND I CAN PROVE IT. Everything in the first list below is ADMITTED. Not rumor. Not "theory." ADMITTED, in Congressional testimony and released documents, by the same government that called the people who noticed it paranoid. Read the list. Check every item at the library like I did. THEN come back and tell me the second list is impossible.
PART ONE: THINGS THEY CALLED PARANOID THAT TURNED OUT TRUE
1. The FBI ran a program called COINTELPRO for 15 years. Spying on ministers, infiltrating citizen groups, writing fake letters to destroy marriages and careers. Only reason you know: private citizens broke into an FBI office in Media, Pennsylvania in 1971 and mailed the files to the newspapers. The Bureau didn't confess. It got CAUGHT.
2. The CIA drugged American citizens without their knowledge for two decades. MKULTRA. And here is the part I want you to hold on to for later: in 1973, when the walls closed in, Director Richard Helms ordered the files DESTROYED. Most of what we know survived by accident in a financial records annex nobody remembered. THE PAPER THAT BURNS IS THE PAPER THAT MATTERS. Remember I said that.
3. The Gulf of Tonkin. The second attack, the one that got the war resolution passed, didn't happen the way they said. McNamara knew. Your neighbors' boys went anyway.
4. Tuskegee. Forty years the Public Health Service watched men die of a disease it could treat, and lied to them. The President of the United States stood up and apologized for it in 1997. TWO YEARS AGO. Not ancient history.
5. Eighteen and a half minutes. Rose Mary Woods said she erased the President's tape by stretching for a phone pedal. Try the stretch yourself. The tapes that mattered most had the gap. IT IS ALWAYS THE TAPES.
6. There is a hollowed-out mountain in Virginia called Mount Weather where the government you elect plans to continue being the government without you. Nobody was supposed to know until a TWA jet hit the mountain in '74 and reporters started asking what all those antennas were. Look up "Continuity of Government." Look up REX-84 from the Iran-Contra hearings. CONTINUITY. Hold on to that word too.
Every item above: admitted, documented, public record. I did not make one word of it up. So when somebody tells you "the government would never" or "the company would never" — the record says THEY DID, over and over, and they only ever admit it after the paper is gone.
PART TWO: WHAT I HAVE OBSERVED IN THIS COUNTY WITH MY OWN EYES AND EARS
The attack warning sirens were tested OFF SCHEDULE four times in 1996. I kept the civil defense test calendar for this county for 26 years. I know the schedule. Nobody at the county would tell me who ordered the extra tests or why.
The water tower on Route 9 was repainted in 1995 and the new fixtures on top are not lights. I have photographs. I have written to the county engineer three times. No answer.
They put fluoride in the water in this county in 1962 over the objection of 4,000 signatures, mine included. I am not saying what I think it is for. I am saying nobody ever asked you.
And yes, the Brackett fire, since people in town bring it up to laugh at me. I will say this once, plainly. That fire was not kids and it was not a mob and it was not some crowd of outside agitators like the coffee counter experts want to tell you. Nobody broke IN to that building. That is the point everyone misses. It was an INTERNAL MATTER — somebody's own paper, burned by somebody's own hand, the same way Helms burned the MKULTRA files and the same way eighteen minutes fell out of a tape. I was on the shortwave that night and the interference was like nothing I have logged in thirty years, and the smoke stood up straight in a crosswind, which fire does not do. The records annex went FIRST. Ask yourself what kind of accidental fire reads the filing labels before it spreads. And don't ask where the night crew went. Transferred out by Christmas, every one I could trace. Nobody transfers you for surviving an accident.
I wrote four letters to the Meridian County Courier about that fire. They printed the first one, edited down to nothing. Then silence. Then in 1996 the Courier itself was GONE — a paper that ran since 1921, folded with no buyer and no explanation, eighteen months after it printed my letter. I am not saying it was because of me. I am saying I know what happens to people who put things in writing, because it is ITEM ONE THROUGH SIX on the list above.
Last thing and then you can go back to laughing. The outfit that held the county contract out at Brackett called itself Continuity Systems Group. I told you to hold on to that word. Continuity of WHAT? Continuity for WHOM? I spent 26 years in civil defense and I know exactly where that word comes from and who uses it, and it is not a word a tape-storage company in Ohio picks out of a hat. Nobody I have asked can tell me who owns them. Try it yourself. Follow it up as far as you can and write me when you hit the wall, because you will hit a wall, and the wall is the answer.
I answer every letter. Gene Kowalczyk, P.O. Box 118, Meridian, OH.
